Tips for watermelon cultivation
1. Irrigation management:
① Water management: wild
flower seeds, like other flower seeds, need sufficient water to
germinate. After sowing, the soil should be kept fully moist within 3-6
weeks. During this period, spray 1-2 times a day to keep the soil layer
moist about 10 cm. Never stop watering halfway.
② With
the growth of seedlings, the irrigation water quantity is gradually
reduced. If there is no irrigation condition, the rainy season should be
used to timely sow. In case of extreme drought, film mulching or bottom
line humidity to meet germination requirements can be considered to
ensure the ideal landscape effect.
2. Weed control
In
order to ensure a satisfactory ornamental effect, weeds can be pulled
out after 20 days of sowing. According to the size of the area and
artificial conditions, the first weeding is conducted 20 days after
sowing, and the second is 40 days after sowing. Basically, pulling 2-3
times can control the growth of weeds. Once the weeds can be identified,
they should be removed immediately.
3. Fertilization
The
normal growth and development of any plant requires certain nutritional
conditions. Although the wild flower combination is barren resistant
and has strong vitality, it also needs a certain amount of nutrition
supply, otherwise the growth and development are poor and the ornamental
characters are not good. For poor soil, it is necessary to apply a
certain amount of organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer before soil
preparation. If the soil fertility is normal, fertilization can or may
not be applied. If soil test is conducted before planting. If the test
results show that soil improvement is necessary, compound fertilizer or
completely decomposed organic fertilizer can be applied, but excessive
fertilization must be avoided! Because this will not only make weeds
grow wildly, but also make wild flowers grow in vain. In the process of
growth, there is no need for topdressing.
4. Pruning
For
most of the wild flower combinations, there is no need to prune, but
for the wild flower combination applied in high-grade places, if the
flower withers and affects the beauty, it can be cleaned up manually in
time.
5. Replant
① Replanting is
the most effective way to maintain the landscape effect of wild flowers.
People can add varieties according to their own wishes. After the late
withering of wild flowers, a cutting and cutting is carried out, and the
soil will be frozen in the spring of next year. In cold regions, sowing
is later in autumn. In order to avoid germination before the arrival of
the next spring, which will cause the seedlings to freeze to death in
winter. In warm climate areas, autumn sowing should be carried out as
early as possible to ensure early flowering in the next spring. The
method of ditching on the surface of soil is adopted to ensure good
contact between soil and seeds.
② Remember, the soil
must be kept moist 4-6 weeks after sowing to ensure that the seeds
germinate well. We suggest that the sowing rate should be controlled
correctly, and the re sowing rate should be 1-2 g / m2. If too many
seeds are sown again, the wild flowers may be too dense and grow poorly.
③
If your goal is mainly perennial wild flowers, check the locations
where wild flowers are planted, and roughly estimate the number of
perennial flowers there and the number of brands of annual and biennial
flowers. If it is an open space, we can plant a large number of our
existing mixed wild flower species or mixed wild flower species prepared
according to customer requirements. It is a good method to control
weeds by covering the whole planting space with perennial wild flowers.
In
order for the seeds to be in full contact with the soil, it may be
necessary to sacrifice some topsoil when replanting. If perennial wild
flowers are mixed with seeds that bloom in spring, or in summer and
autumn, different wild flowers in different seasons will create
different ornamental effects.
